IRIS the concept that combines all EAL products
It is almost impossible to think of an environment that equals the world of applied electronics. Next to the fact that nearly every situation is different, we have to keep in mind that during the economic life span of a product, many situations will change. IRIS however, has proven time after time to be able to adopt those changes and therefore guarantee a seamless solution.
The EAL Voice Logging System is setting the trend. Analogue handsets will rapidly be changed out for digital ones and analogue lines will disappear and replaced by the digital networks. This implies however that there will be a phase of coexisting of both technologies within an organization. The next opportunity is the coexisting of the different types of digital connections. The world will show us any combination of ISDN30, ISDN2 or for instance the S0 bus. The time span of this technology change within an organization will be often dependent on availability off appropriate budgets, for often this will mean considerable investments. Changes in the organization itself or equipment from third parties can be the initiator as well.
These are just a number of reasons for EAL to standardize all those exceptions, in her developments.
In order to be able facilitate this total flexibility, EAL developed the IRIS (Intelligent Remote Interface System) being the base for many of her developments. The Voice Logging System is no exception in this. IRIS houses the LSIC being the motherboard that enables eight slots for different interface modules. Due to the fact that can be chosen from 22 different interface modules at this moment in time, all customer demands can be realized. It enables the customer to follow the changes in technology and organization in the speed and order it will be necessary. For the reason this can be done per interface module, disinvestments can be prohibited.

Can I introduce you to IRIS
The IRIS, in many cases the heart of the EAL development and products, has proven to be a strong and reliable concept. The IRIS unit provides accommodation for up to eight interface modules. Each type of interface module adds different hard/ software to the unit, without the need to modify the LSIC (motherboard) itself. It allows changes to one of the modules without interrupting the rest of the system.
