biometric solutions
Biometric recognition is possible for several years now, but is still a small market compared to the complete access control market. Nevertheless biometric solutions are gaining market-share every year. Depending on the type of recognition, solutions are becoming more affordable and therefore integrated in existing EAL ATS solutions. So…we don’t just talk about it, we already have biometric solutions up-and-running based on finger, face or iris recognition.

Different types of recognition:
Within the EAL ATS access control system, several biometric systems are supported in combination with badge verification. Depending on the requested solution, biometric recognition based on finger ID, iris ID or facial ID can be integrated.
EAL ATS connection with IRIS recognition:
Together with Dartagnan Biometrics, EAL implemented the LG IRIS recognition system in the EAL ATS system. A detailed connection is made on database level which makes it possible to integrate the LG IRIS scanner in the EAL ATS system as if being a normal access controlled door. The main advantage of this connection is the fact that ALL the employee, contractor, badge and biometric data is accessible via one single system (our EAL ATS solution).
The first system using this technique was implemented by EAL in 2004.
EAL ATS connection with facial recognition:
For high security sections within the organisation a connection is made with the Cognitec Facial recognition software combined with Plettac camera technology. Every time a badge is presented together with a (UN) authorised face, a picture is taken by our software and stored in the historical database. This information makes it easy to link faces with attempts to unauthorised usage of doors.
The first system using this technique was implemented by EAL in 2000.
EAL ATS connection with finger ID:
The EAL IBOIR solution creates the possibility to implement Finger ID technology and proximity / RFID card verification, in one and the same reader. Finger ID verification is the best affordable biometrical solution, however it’s not really suitable for high security zones, therefore EAL always implements this function combined with card reader technology.
The first system using this technique was implemented by EAL in 2005.
Verification or identification:
EAL distinguishes herself in the biometric market due to the fact that all biometrical techniques are combined with card reader technology. The total access control solution within an organisation, becomes more secure when the biometrical data is verified with the badge in stead of only being identified (it also speeds up the recognition process). Furthermore it offers additional historical data when a negative biometrical verification has been done in combination with for example a stolen badge.
